To set an alert in Mixpanel for when a specific user or property engages with an event, you should use filters in your report before creating the alert. Here’s how you can do it: 1. Create a Report with Filters: - Build an Insights or Funnels report for the event you want to monitor. - Use the filter functionality to narrow down the event to a specific user (using their Distinct ID or another user property) or to a specific event property value. For example, filter for events where the property “Device” is “Android” or where the user’s email matches a specific address. You can apply these as global or inline filters in your report Docs / Reports Overview / Filters.2. Save the Report: - Save your filtered report. Alerts can only be set on saved reports.3. Create an Alert: - Click the three dots icon (overflow menu) on your saved report. - Go to Alerts and select Create Alert. - Set your alert criteria (e.g., when the event count is above a certain threshold). - Choose your notification preferences (email or Slack) and save the alert Docs / Features / Alerts.Note: Alerts are triggered based on the report’s results. By filtering the report to a specific user or property, the alert will only fire when that user or property engages with the event and meets your alert criteria. If you need to monitor for a single event occurrence (e.g., any time a specific user triggers an event), set the threshold to “above 0” or “equals 1” as appropriate. For more details on filtering and alert setup, see the official documentation: - Filters - Alerts

Go to insight report Create and save report and click on the 3 dots to select Alerts and Create/Manage existing alerts Only saved reports use the Alert feature To workaround events yet to be triggered you can use the conversion funnel and choose as the first step - an event that has been triggered.
