Hello, I purchased a Growthplan in Mixpanel with a paid data pipeline, more then a year ago. I added extra free 1M events, which my plan ends today. What will happen tomorrow?
Can I continue using Mixpanel for free with fewer than 1 million events per month, with the add-on?
Would the data be lost, including the streamlined data through the add-on?
Hi Alon- Julianne from Mixpanel Support here. From what you've shared, I'd recommend updating to the latest Growth plan, which includes up to 1M events and add-ons, like data pipelines, for free. Updating to the latest plan will ensure that you don't lose access and that data continues to be exported through the pipeline. It's hard to say the exact behavior if you don't select the latest plan since it can vary based on the plan type. Generally, Growth plans will auto-renew at the same level though to ensure continued access. Data won't be lost due to plan changes. Event if you were to downgrade to the Free plan, data will continue to be ingested. However, the Free plan would impact the data pipelines export since it doesn't include that feature.Â
Thx for the reply Julianne B.! I want to understand correctly, please confirm - Are both 1M monthly events + the pipeline free, and I just need to click purchase for 0$ to both will remain?
I updated to the latest plan but in the Prorated Total Due Today line, changes to change, it’s up to tomrrrow. Shuold I do it tomorrow then? I just don’t want to lose access or data.
Thanks for the response! Correct- it's $0 as long as you stay beneath 1M events, even with data pipelines. If you go over 1M events, each event ingested will be charged at the additional data rate seen in the “Plan Details & Billing” in your Organization Settings. The Pricing doc has more information about that. Generally, any sort of downgrade plan change will go into affect when the current billing period end. Upgrades can take place mid-billing cycle. Given this, I'd recommend making the change today to have it go into effect July 1. This should ensure continued access.Â
