Clarifying Subscription Renewal Retention Report Calculations

When creating a subscription renewal retention report, with renewals happening every month, do we add the <1 Month to the Month 1 figures to get the full picture of all Month 1 renewals, or does Month 1 also include renewals from the <1 Month column as well? 🎫

Hi Dave- Julianne here from Mixpanel Support! Whether or not "< 1 Month" is included in "Month 1" would depend on the specific retention criteria selected. You can read more about each retention criteria in the <https://docs.mixpanel.com/docs/reports/retention#retention-criteria|docs here>. Which one are you using in the report?

Thanks for the response! When you use the "On" time interval for monthly subscriptions, the "<1 Month" and "Month 1" columns in the retention report are distinct and do not overlap. Users would need to track the retention event in each time period to be included. The exact time period for the segments depends on whether rolling-day or calendar-mode retention is selected.
