I am tracking an event for failed purchases. I have a report that has the event broken down by error type. How can I set up an alert such that whenever any event purchase failure occurs, it sends an alert to a slack channel? What would I set for the notify 'at most' if I want it to happen every time an event purchase error is tracked? and can I have it include the error type ?

To set up an alert in Mixpanel for your failed purchase event (broken down by error type) and have it notify a Slack channel whenever any failure occurs, follow these steps: 1. Save your report with the failed purchase event, ensuring it is broken down by error type. 2. Click the 3 dots icon on the report, go to Alerts, and select Create Alert. 3. Enter a name for your alert. 4. If your report has a breakdown (e.g., by error type), you can select to be alerted when any segment (i.e., any error type) matches the alert criteria. 5. Set your alert criteria: - For your use case, set the alert to trigger when the event count is above 0 (or "greater than 0"), so it fires whenever any purchase failure occurs. 6. Set your notification frequency: - The "notify at most" setting determines how often you receive alerts. If you want to be notified every time a purchase failure event is tracked, set the frequency to the smallest available interval (e.g., hourly). However, Mixpanel does not support real-time (per-event) alerts; the most frequent option is typically hourly, based on the time bucket of your report visualization. So, you will be notified at most once per hour per segment that matches the alert condition, not for every single event in real time. 7. Set your notification delivery preferences: - Choose Slack and select the desired Slack channel. Make sure the Mixpanel Slack integration is enabled for your workspace. Private channels are not supported unless specifically configured.Including the error type: When you set the alert on a report broken down by error type and select "any segment," the alert notification will indicate which segment (error type) triggered the alert. This way, you will know which error type caused the purchase failure alert to fire.Summary: - You can set up an alert to notify a Slack channel whenever a purchase failure occurs, broken down by error type. - The most frequent notification interval is hourly, not per event. - The alert will include the error type if you set the alert on a breakdown and select "any segment" to be alerted on.For more details, see the official documentation on Alerts and Slack Integration in Mixpanel. The alerting system is designed to batch notifications based on the report's time bucket, so real-time, per-event notifications are not supported at this time. The alert will include the relevant segment (error type) that triggered it, helping you identify the specific failure reason Alerts.
