I'm using the Gsheet extension to send Mixpanel data to a Gsheet hourly, but the extract is different to the dashboard? What could be causing this?

There are several reasons why the data exported from Mixpanel to Google Sheets using the Gsheet extension might differ from what you see in your Mixpanel dashboard: 1. Different Report Types and Calculations: Mixpanel reports (e.g., Insights, Funnels) calculate data differently. For example, Insights may show total event counts, while Funnels may show unique user conversions. Ensure you are comparing the same report type and metric in both Mixpanel and your Gsheet export. Filters and breakdowns applied in the dashboard may not be reflected in the export if not configured identically Debugging Discrepancies.2. Timeframes and Timezones: Make sure both the dashboard and the export are using the same time frame and timezone. Mixpanel records events in UTC, but displays them in your project’s configured timezone, which may differ from what is shown in the export Debugging Discrepancies.3. Filters and Query Parameters: The export to Google Sheets requires you to specify parameters such as report URL, project ID, and report ID. If these do not match the dashboard configuration (e.g., filters, breakdowns), the data will differ Export to Google Sheet.4. Data Sync Delays: There may be a delay in data availability between Mixpanel and the export, especially if you are exporting hourly. Late-arriving data or processing delays can cause temporary discrepancies Export Frequency.5. Unique User vs. Total Event Count: Double-check whether you are comparing unique users or total events, as this can cause apparent discrepancies Debugging Discrepancies. To troubleshoot, ensure you are: - Comparing the same report type, metric, and time frame. - Using the same filters and breakdowns in both the dashboard and the export. - Accounting for any data processing or sync delays. If discrepancies persist, try removing all filters from both the dashboard and the export to compare the raw data, then reapply filters one by one to identify where the difference arises Debugging Discrepancies.
