Yes, you can move boards across different projects within your organization, including from a development to a production environment. Mixpanel's Move feature makes this process straightforward.
How to Move a Board Between Projects
1. Navigate to the board you want to move 2. Click on the "Move to" option, which you can access in three ways: - From the side navigation by clicking the 3 dots next to the board name - From the current board's header menu (3 dots in the top right) - From the card menu of a nested board (if applicable) 3. Select the destination project where you want to move the boardFor Enterprise users, you'll first select "projects" and then choose the specific project. For non-enterprise users, the project menu will appear immediately when you hover over "Move To" Move Boards.
Important Considerations
- If you want to keep a copy in your development project, duplicate the board first and then move the duplicate to production - The Move feature preserves reports, filters, and text annotations - If there are events and properties used in the development project but not in production, those reports will remain empty until the corresponding events and properties are tracked in production - Custom events, custom properties, cohorts, and lexicon metadata are not automatically moved with the board and would need to be recreated manually in the destination project Project MigrationThis approach is particularly useful when you've tested and perfected your analytics setup in a development environment and want to implement the same reports in production without rebuilding everything from scratch.
