when I create a cohort with between, is it inclusive? e.g. if I have an inclusive where a user's metric is between 1 and 5, will it include entries that are 1 and 5?
Hi Mark N., Please stand by as I search the Mixpanel knowledge base for an AI-powered answer. I normally take about 15 seconds or so. In case AI cannot answer your question, feel free to reach out to Mixpanel support at mixpanel.com/get-support. I'm sorry, but the knowledge sources do not explicitly state whether the "between" operator in Mixpanel cohort creation is inclusive of the boundary values (e.g., whether "between 1 and 5" includes 1 and 5). The documentation provides examples of creating cohorts with thresholds and ranges, but it does not clarify the inclusivity of the "between" condition in these filters Creating Cohorts. If you need a definitive answer, I recommend testing this in your Mixpanel project or reaching out to Mixpanel support for clarification.

Mark N. To be certain, I’d suggest creating an insights report with the related event, add the cohort as a filter and break down by the value to see if you have 1's and 5's. Do it in your dev environment and reproduce the action with a 1 or a 5 in case it doesn’t come up in production.
I agree, many places in the product would benefit from a tooltip of what stands behind the logic
