New Public Beta: Mixpanel Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server 🔥 | @everyone
Hi everyone! Marisa again from the Mixpanel team 👋 Exciting news that you can now ask your data questions in simple language with the Mixpanel MCP Server beta! This means you can: 🫱🏻🫲🏽 Bridge your Mixpanel data with AI tools (i.e., Claude) to democratize analytics access across your entire organization. ⚡ Time-to-insight went from "Let me build you a dashboard" to... "Here's your answer!" 🧠 Empower non-technical team members to ask data questions without requiring analytics support. This beta is available to all projects based in US data center; more to come! Here are some resources to learn more & get started:
And as always, we want to hear from you! Share your feedback with the team directly via the form on the docs.
Any idea when this will be available to non US data center projects?
Also would love to see this loom but doesn't look like it's externally viewable 🙃
Hi Tim! The team is working to enable this functionality for non-US data center projects on the near term roadmap. Thank you for pointing out the access error! Our Blog team is fixing this; here is a link in the meantime.
How does this differ from Spark?
Hi Iván M.! Here is a breakdown of the differing strengths for Spark and Mixpanel MCP: Spark's Strengths
Embedded Experience: Lives natively within the Mixpanel UI; zero context switching
Query Optimization: Purpose-built for analytics queries; understands Mixpanel's data model deeply
Guided Discovery: Can suggest relevant properties, events, and analysis patterns specific to your data.
MCP's Strengths
Workflow Integration: Works across your entire technology stack (ex. Mixpanel, Slack, JIRA), - wherever you operate.
Cross-Platform Intelligence: Combines Mixpanel data with other tools for richer context of insights
Hi! You should be able to query for this use case (see our support docs here); you can review these troubleshooting suggestions here. If you continue to run into an issue, I would recommend submitting a support request for our team to help you further!
I checked the docs link you sent and it didn’t refer to user properties, only events.
Hi - you are right; I misread your message! The team is working to expand MCP functionality in the near term roadmap. I will share this feedback with the team!
