Hi fellow Mixpanel users. I am trying to understand “Compare to previous” feature in Mixpanel. Do I compare to an average during the previous 30 days or to a single day value 30 days ago? Here i select an event that happened today hour by hour and compare it to a “previous 30 days”. Then this doted line is an average of hours for the last 30 days, or it is hour by hour a day 30 days go compared to today? Thank you for your help! 🙂
Hi Artyom- Julianne from Mixpanel Support here! You can hover over a specific data point to see the time period that is being compared to. With the report set up from the screenshot, the feature will be comparing a specific hours value to the value for the same hour, 30 days ago. This means the line is an hour by hour of the values 30 days ago.
Hi Julianne. Thank you, it is quite clear now. Do you know if Mixpanel is planning to implement comparison to averages: last 30 days average, last 3 months and last year average? Statistically it is more interesting to compare to averages rather than to a specific days 30 days or 3 months ago.
Happy to help! That currently isn't on the roadmap, but it would be a great feature to develop! I highly recommend submitting your use case and request for this feature via the 'Submit Feedback' form (under the ? menu). This will flag your use case and support of the feature to the Product team. They use the logged gaps to develop future releases and improvements of the product.
