Hi! Rage Clicks in Mixpanel, how can I set up custom events for rage clicks (e.g., multiple clicks on the same element in a short period)
Hi Itamar! Julianne from Mixpanel Support here. It isn't possible to set up a custom event that specifies a number of clicks in a short time. However, you could use a Funnel to visualize the information. You could add the event/property definition for a specific element and then a short conversion window. I definitely think this would be a great functionality to add to the product, though. I recommend sending your use case through the 'Submit Feedback' form (under the ? menu), which will flag it to the Product team.
Hi Julianne, Thank you for your help!I understand your workaround using Funnels — that could work. I do have a follow-up question: is there a way to set up the flow in a more general way, like:Step 1: Any click event Step 2: The same click eventOr do I need to define it individually for each button ID?Thanks again! Hi Itmar! Thanks for the response. This sounds like a great use case for 'Hold Property Constant' on the button ID. This would allow you to create a Funnel that is 'Click Event' > 'Click Event', and then hold the 'button ID' constant. In order to convert, users would need to have the same button ID across the Funnel. If using a totals counting method, they would enter the Funnel with each new button ID as well.Â
