Manually Apply Identity Merge in Mixpanel Using Custom Formula

Hi there, Is it possible to manually apply an identity merge from Mixpanel using some formula? For example, always merge users who have a distinct ID "x" and a distinct ID "prefix" + "x"?

Adam L. You can't do this. But you can use the merge API to do this.

Thanks Ansh A. , In that case, how does mixpanel know when to set the $device_id prefix? Because I sometimes get the device ID prefixing showing up with the user ID populated and identified

Adam L. ideally if identified is called properly, you wouldn't be seeing device ID as the distinct ID. Where are you seeing this prefix?
