Update groupID in Segment and manage Mixpanel data implications

I need to update my groupID in Segment from its existing ID to a new UUID, so that Segment can be used more effectively across the org. One of my concerns is that Mixpanel uses our Segment event data, and a key breakdown is by company. My understanding is that by updating the groupID we'll effectively create a new set of companies under our groups. Is there a way to handle this in mixpanel so it doesn't create issues with the data?
