Hi team, I’m analyzing a funnel and trying to filter by a property within an event. However, the property I implemented does not appear in the search. How can I resolve this situation? Additional notes
I have previously filtered this event by the same property before (so it was collected successfully).
The event is currently dropped, but I am looking at data from dates before it was dropped.
As far as I know, even if it's a dropped event, I keep the data before it's dropped. Please let me know if I'm mistaken.
Any advice or workaround would be greatly appreciated.
Hi- Julianne from Mixpanel Support here! You're correct that even if an event is dropped, the data from before it was dropped is still retained and accessible. Mixpanel automatically hides events and their properties from dropdowns and Lexicon when they haven't been ingested in more than 30 days. This is done to reduce clutter from events that are no longer firing, and is likely why the property you're looking for isn't appearing in the search. You can manually type in the exact event or property name and select it in the dropdown to access it in reports. Note, this is case-sensitive. Let me know if that works for you! I thought typing part of the property name would show it in the dropdown suggestions, but I see now that I need to type the full name. After entering the full property name and selecting it, it worked perfectly. Thanks a lot!
