Cleaning Up Invalid Profile Properties in the Lexicon

A couple of years ago I imported a bunch of profile properties via csv. I messed that up during import and it created some bad data with a meaningless property name that I was now finally able to clean up using the unset method in the API. Now 0 user have any data set for this property. However, the property itself still shows in the Lexicon. Do I need to or can I clean it up there as well or will this just sort itself out eventually?
