How to Find Monthly User Retention in the Retention Section

I want to know how many of my users that logged in last month, also logged in this month. Which of the options get me here in the retention section?

To track users who logged in last month and also logged in this month, you should use Calendar Retention Mode with the "On or After" retention criteria. Here's why each setting fits your use case:
Recommended Settings
1. Calendar Retention Mode
Switch from the default rolling window to Calendar Retention Mode (found in the advanced menu under Retention Criteria). This aligns retention calculation to calendar-defined time windows (e.g., "last month" and "this month") rather than rolling 30-day windows from each user's individual login date. 2. "On or After" Retention Criteria
Use "On or After" (the default) as your retention interval. This counts users who came back on a specific time unit or any time afterward, which matches your goal of knowing if a user who logged in last month also logged in at any point this month. [Retention Criteria]
3. Set Up the Behavior
A event (birth event): Login event (e.g., "User Logged In")
B event (return event): Same login event
Unit: Month
Interval: Month 1 [Quick Start]
This will show you the percentage (or count) of users who logged in during last month's calendar period and returned to log in during this month's calendar period — exactly what you're looking for.
