so I have the following funnel step 1 (install) step 2 (sign up) step 3 (buy) step 4 (buy) and this has a 30 days conversion time. but what I’m trying to obtain is having a 1 day conversion time fro step 1->2, a 7 days conversion time from step 2 to step 3 and a 30 days conversion time from step 3 to step 4. how can I do this?

I apologize, but based on the knowledge sources provided, there isn't a direct way to set different conversion windows for individual steps within a single funnel in Mixpanel. The conversion window in Mixpanel's Funnels report applies to the entire funnel, not to individual steps.According to the Funnels documentation:"The Conversion Window determines how much time a user has to convert through all steps of the funnel after entering it. By default, all customers have 30 days to complete a funnel from the timestamp they perform the Step 1 event."There's no mention of setting different conversion windows for individual steps within a single funnel. To achieve what you're looking for, you might need to create separate funnels for each step transition with their respective conversion windows:1. A funnel with steps 1 (install) and 2 (sign up) with a 1-day conversion window 2. A funnel with steps 2 (sign up) and 3 (buy) with a 7-day conversion window 3. A funnel with steps 3 (buy) and 4 (buy) with a 30-day conversion windowThis approach would allow you to analyze each step transition with its specific conversion window, but it wouldn't be possible to view them all in a single funnel report with varying conversion windows between steps. If this functionality is crucial for your analysis, you might want to reach out to Mixpanel's support team to inquire if there are any advanced features or workarounds that could help you achieve this specific setup.

You're right, and I apologize for the confusion in my previous answer. You've made an excellent point about the limitation of creating separate funnels, especially when it comes to tracking users across the entire journey from installation to repeat purchases.Unfortunately, based on the knowledge sources provided, Mixpanel's Funnels report doesn't offer a built-in way to set different conversion windows for individual steps within a single funnel. The conversion window applies to the entire funnel, as mentioned in the Funnels documentation.Given this limitation and the specific nature of your funnel (install -> sign up -> buy -> buy), you might need to consider alternative approaches within Mixpanel or possibly combine different reports to get the insights you're looking for. However, the knowledge sources don't provide a clear solution for your specific use case.To get a more accurate answer or find a potential workaround, I would recommend:1. Reaching out to Mixpanel's support team directly. They might have advanced features or custom solutions that aren't covered in the general documentation.2. Exploring if a combination of Funnels and other Mixpanel reports (like Flows or custom queries) could help you achieve a similar analysis.3. Considering if adjusting your event tracking strategy could help capture the time-based relationships you're looking for in a way that's more compatible with Mixpanel's current funnel capabilities.I apologize that I can't provide a more definitive solution based on the available information. Your use case highlights an interesting analytical need that might be valuable feedback for Mixpanel's product team.
