Creating a Cohort for an Insights Chart
There are a few ways to create a cohort directly from or for use in an Insights chart:
1. Create a Cohort from an Insights Chart (View Users)
Click any bar or data point in your Insights report and select "View Users". A side panel will show the list of users behind that data point. From there, you can save that group as a cohort. [View Users]
2. Create a Cohort via the Cohort Builder
Go to the Users tab and use the Cohort Builder to define conditions such as:
"Users who did <event> more/less than <threshold>"
"Users where <profile property> equals/is more/less than <value>"
Save the cohort, and it will be available to use in your Insights report. [Cohort Builder]
3. Create a Temporary Cohort Directly in Insights
In the Insights query builder, click Create Custom > Cohort. This creates a temporary cohort that persists only for your current analysis session. [Cohort Builder]
Using a Cohort in Insights
Once a cohort is created, you can use it in Insights in several ways:
Visualize cohort size over time: Select a cohort from the "Events and Cohorts" menu to generate a line chart showing how the cohort size trends over time.
