How can I filter an Insights Report by last full calendar month on a rolling basis (i.e. automatically updated each month)?

To filter an Insights Report by the last full calendar month on a rolling basis in Mixpanel, use the date range selector and choose the “Last 1 month” (or “Last 30 days”) option. This preset will always show data for the most recent complete month, automatically updating as each new month begins. The report will include results from the last complete month, plus any results from the current incomplete day if you select “Last 30 days.” For a strict full calendar month, you can use the “Last” option and set it to 1 month, which will roll forward each month and always reflect the most recent full month. To do this: 1. Open your Insights Report. 2. Click on the date range selector. 3. Select “Last” and set it to “1 month.” 4. The report will now always show the last full calendar month, updating automatically each month. If you want to ensure it only includes complete months (not partial current month), you may need to use the “Fixed” option and manually update it, as the rolling “Last 1 month” will always include up to the current day. However, for most rolling use cases, “Last 1 month” is the recommended approach for automation Reports Overview: Date Range. If you need to apply this filter board-wide, you can add a date range filter at the board level, which will temporarily update all reports on the board to use the selected date range without altering the saved queries Boards: Board-wide Date Ranges and Filters.

kapa.ai Thanks but this doesn't solve the problem. If I choose "Last 1 Month" and view the report on 7th October the date range is 7th September to 7th October. It should be 1st September to 30th September. I don't want to have to update fixed dates every month. Do you have a better solution?
Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! 📚
Thank you for clarifying your requirement. Based on the knowledge sources, Mixpanel’s built-in date range selector does not currently offer a dynamic option to automatically select the last full calendar month (e.g., 1st to 30th/31st of the previous month) on a rolling basis. The “Last 1 month” or “Last 30 days” options are rolling windows that include the current day, not the previous full calendar month. The “Fixed” option allows you to select exact dates, but this must be updated manually each month Reports Overview: Date Range. There is no mention in the documentation of an automated way to always select the previous full calendar month without manual intervention. The knowledge sources do not describe a feature or workaround for this specific use case.I'm sorry, but based on the available documentation, Mixpanel does not currently support an automated, rolling filter for the last full calendar month without manual updates.
