I have a table with a few cohort breakdowns, and I have values for "in cohort" and "not in cohort". Is there a way to filter out all "not in" cohort values, but to keep "in cohort" ones?
Hi Robert Ĺ ., Please stand by as I search the Mixpanel knowledge base for an AI-powered answer. I normally take about 15 seconds or so. In case AI cannot answer your question, feel free to reach out to Mixpanel support at mixpanel.com/get-support. Yes, you can filter your report to only show users "in cohort" and exclude the "not in cohort" values. In Mixpanel, when you use a cohort as a breakdown, the results are grouped into "in cohort" and "not in cohort." To display only the "in cohort" values, you should use the filter functionality: - Click the Filter button in your report. - Select your cohort from the filter menu. - This will filter the entire report to only include users who are in the selected cohort, effectively removing the "not in cohort" rows from your table. This approach is supported in Insights, Funnels, Flows, and Retention reports. When you filter by a cohort, only the users who are members of that cohort are included in your analysis, and the "not in cohort" group is excluded from the results Docs / Users / Cohorts: Using Cohorts in Analysis Docs / Reports Overview. If you use the breakdown feature, both "in cohort" and "not in cohort" will appear. To see only "in cohort," use the filter instead of the breakdown.

kapa.ai This does not work; both are still visible. If I exclude one from the table, both "in cohort" and "not in cohort" are removed.
Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! 📚
Thank you for your follow-up. Based on the knowledge sources, when you use a cohort as a breakdown in Mixpanel, the results will show both "in cohort" and "not in cohort" groups. The documentation states: > For cohorts, you will be shown groups of users both in and not in the cohort in your results.
It is only possible to either group by properties or group by cohorts, but not both. Docs / Reports OverviewThe documentation does not mention a built-in way to filter out only the "not in cohort" rows from a breakdown table while keeping the "in cohort" rows visible. Applying a filter for the cohort will remove both groups from the breakdown, as you observed, and only show the filtered cohort as a whole.I'm sorry, but the knowledge sources do not provide a method to display only the "in cohort" values in a breakdown table while hiding the "not in cohort" values. This appears to be a current limitation of Mixpanel's reporting interface.
