Understanding Impact Reports in Mixpanel: Analyzing User Event Changes

·
·

I want to learn about impact report in mixpanel. Can you describe it? I have launched a new event called validó email which is the event that triggers when a user after signing up for a trial enters the code so he can log in and try the product. Before this (we launched the 27th of March and today is 29th) they entered the signup page and they were immediately logged in into the system for the trial. I want to understand who this new process impacted the finalizó wizard event that indicates the first steps of the wizard are done after and before

Based on the knowledge sources provided, I don't see specific information about an "impact report" as a named feature in Mixpanel. However, I can help you understand how to analyze the impact of your new email validation process on your conversion funnel using Mixpanel's analytics tools. To analyze how your new "validó email" event has impacted the "finalizó wizard" completion rates before and after the March 27th launch, you can use Mixpanel's funnel analysis capabilities.

Analyzing the Impact with Funnel Analysis

Mixpanel's Funnel report is perfect for this scenario as it allows you to: 1. Measure conversion rates through a series of events 2. Identify where users drop off in your flow 3. Compare conversion rates before and after changesMixpanel's Funnel documentation explains that you can use funnels to answer questions like "How has the payment funnel conversion rate changed over time?" which is similar to your question about the wizard completion.

    Steps to Analyze the Impact

    1. Create a funnel with your key events in sequence: - Start with your signup event - Include your new "validó email" event - End with the "finalizó wizard" event2. Compare time periods: - Use the date selector to compare data before March 27th to data after March 27th - This will show you how the conversion rate has changed since implementing the email validation step3. Use the Flows report to understand what users are doing between these steps: - As mentioned in the Flows documentation, this will help you "understand how your users sequentially perform events in your product and analyze drop-offs" - This can reveal if users are getting stuck at the new email validation step

    Additional Analysis Options

You might also want to: 1. Break down your funnel by user segments to see if the impact varies across different user groups2. Analyze conversion time to see if the new process is affecting how long it takes users to complete the wizard3. Use comparison events at the "validó email" step to see what percentage of users are successfully validating their email versus dropping off at this point, as described in the comparison events documentationThis analysis will give you clear insights into how your new email validation process has impacted the user journey to completing the wizard.
