Based on the information provided in the knowledge sources, I can answer your question about merging event properties in Mixpanel. When merging properties in Mixpanel, you merge them across all events, not on an event-by-event basis. The merging process combines selected properties into a single property, which affects how Mixpanel recognizes that property across your entire project Lexicon: Describe your events and data using a dictionary. However, if you want to have custom display names for properties in the context of specific events, you have a different option. You can use Mixpanel's Lexicon feature to change the display name of a property on the UI. This allows you to make property names more user-friendly without affecting the underlying data structure Events: Capture behaviors and actions. So, while you can't merge properties on an event-specific basis, you can use Lexicon to customize how property names are displayed for different events in the Mixpanel interface. This approach allows you to maintain consistent underlying data while providing context-specific labels in your reports and analyses.

Based on the information provided in the knowledge sources, I'm afraid I don't have enough specific information to fully answer your question about having different display names for the same event property depending on which event it is associated with. The Lexicon feature in Mixpanel allows you to set display names for event properties, but it appears this is done at a global level rather than on an event-specific basis. According to the Lexicon documentation, you can set a "Display Name" for each property, which is "The property name that displays in the Mixpanel interface." However, there's no mention of being able to set different display names for the same property when it's associated with different events. It's possible that this level of customization is not currently available in Mixpanel's Lexicon feature. If you need this level of granularity in property naming, you might need to consider alternative approaches, such as creating separate properties for different events or using a naming convention that includes the event context in the property name itself. For the most up-to-date and accurate information on this specific use case, I would recommend reaching out to Mixpanel's support team or consulting their latest documentation, as features and capabilities may have been updated since the time these knowledge sources were created.
