Mixpanel records all events in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) at intake. However, for projects created before January 1, 2023, event timestamps are stored based on the project’s timezone setting at the time of ingestion. Changing the project’s timezone in settings only affects how Mixpanel outputs results, not how data is stored. When exporting or importing data, it’s recommended to use UTC to ensure consistency and correct display in your project.
