If you use the holding constant for in a funnel report, does it only count events with the specified property or is it only counting users who maintain the properly across both events?
If you apply a breakdown based on the number of times a user does the initial event (using a behavioral property like "Frequency per User") and also use "hold property constant" in your funnel, only the events where the user maintains the same property value across all funnel steps will be counted for conversion. The breakdown will reflect the frequency of the initial event, but only for those funnel attempts where the property value is held constant throughout all steps. So, in your breakdown, the counted events (and users) will have satisfied both conditions: they performed the initial event the specified number of times, and they maintained the constant property value across all funnel steps. If a user performs the initial event multiple times with different property values, only the attempts where the property value is consistent across all steps will be included in the breakdown for conversions Hold Property Constant Behavioral Properties. If the property value changes between steps, those attempts will not be counted as conversions, and thus will not appear in the breakdown for successful conversions.

When you use "hold property constant" in a Mixpanel funnel report, it only counts users who maintain the same value for the specified property across all funnel steps. In other words, a user must perform each event in the funnel with the same property value to be counted as a conversion. If the property value changes between steps, that user's funnel attempt will not be counted as a conversion. For example, if you hold the "Item Name" property constant in a funnel of Browse → Add to Cart → Purchase, only users who browse, add to cart, and purchase the same item (i.e., with the same "Item Name" value at each step) will be counted. All events in the funnel must have the property, and you can select up to three properties to hold constant at the same time. The way the property value is determined depends on the counting method (Uniques, Totals, or Sessions), but in all cases, the property must remain the same across all steps for a user to convert Hold Property Constant.
