How can I create a funnel based on users that didn't do an event

Based on the knowledge sources, there are a couple of approaches to create a funnel based on users that didn't do an event:
Using Exclusion Steps
You can use exclusion steps in your funnel to exclude users who performed a specific event between funnel steps. According to the Funnels Advanced Concepts, exclusion steps operate as a "did not do" filter for funnels. To add an exclusion step: 1. Expand the "Advanced" menu in your funnel 2. Click "Exclude users who did…" 3. Select an event from the list 4. Choose whether you want the event excluded between all steps or between specific stepsImportant note: Exclusion steps can only be placed between funnel steps - they cannot be the first or last step. Users who tracked the exclusion step can still enter the funnel and convert through steps until they perform the excluded event.
Using Cohort Filters
If you want to completely exclude users who did a particular event at any point from entering the funnel, you should use a cohort filter instead. You can create a cohort of users who "did not do" a specific event: 1. Go to the Users page or create a cohort from a report 2. Set up a filter with "did not do" for the event you want to exclude 3. Save this as a cohort 4. Apply this cohort as a filter to your funnelThe Cohorts FAQ provides examples of creating cohorts for users who dropped off or didn't perform certain actions.
