Are there any data privacy considerations when turning on Spark? I read that EU accounts have this automatically toggled off as opposed to US
Hi James S., Please stand by as I search the Mixpanel knowledge base for an AI-powered answer. I normally take about 15 seconds or so. Yes, there are data privacy considerations, but the main ones called out in the docs are:
Spark uses a generative AI service (OpenAI). [Spark docs]
There is a dedicated overview of data privacy, compliance, and security for Mixpanel’s generative AI features here: https://mixpanel.com/legal/gen-ai-features/. [Spark docs]
By default, Mixpanel does not use your customer data to train the AI model; you can optionally enable training on your data in settings. [Spark docs]
The knowledge sources do not explicitly mention different default behavior for EU vs US accounts (such as Spark being auto-disabled for EU orgs), so I can’t confirm that part from the docs alone.
