Based on the knowledge sources, here are the most likely reasons and solutions for your issue:
Why your Custom Event does not appear in Lexicon
1. Lexicon UI vs. Lexicon Schemas API The Lexicon UI displays custom events that have either: - An associated schema (created via API, CSV import, or by adding metadata in the UI), or - Have been sent to your project in the last 30 days. However, if your custom event was just created and not yet used in a way that triggers it to be indexed (e.g., not yet queried or not yet associated with metadata), it may not appear in Lexicon immediately. Also, the Lexicon Schemas API only returns entities with an associated schema, so if your custom event lacks metadata, it may not show up in API exports either Lexicon Schemas API.2. Inactive or Hidden Custom Events If a custom event has not been used (queried) in the last 30 days, or if it is hidden, it will not appear in the default Lexicon dropdowns. You can search for it by name, or check if it is hidden and unhide it if necessary Check for Hidden Events and Properties.3. Custom Event Not Saved or Shared Properly Custom events are private until shared. You mentioned you shared it, but double-check that it was shared with the correct audience (project or organization) Custom Events: Sharing.
How to Fix
- Query or Use the Custom Event: Use the custom event in a report (e.g., Insights, Funnels, Flows). This should trigger it to appear in Lexicon if it’s not hidden or inactive. - Add Metadata: Edit the custom event in Lexicon (if you can find it by searching) and add a description or other metadata. This will associate a schema and make it visible Lexicon Schemas API. - Check Hidden Status: In Lexicon, ensure the custom event is not hidden. If it is, unhide it Hiding Data. - Wait for Indexing: Sometimes, there may be a short delay before new or recently used custom events appear in Lexicon. If after these steps your custom event still does not appear, try firing the underlying events or using the custom event in a report, then refresh Lexicon. If the issue persists, there may be a technical problem, and you should contact Mixpanel Support.References: - Lexicon: Overview - Custom Events: Sharing - Check for Hidden Events and Properties - Lexicon Schemas API

The knowledge sources do not specify an exact timeframe for how long it takes after using a custom event in a report for it to appear in Lexicon. They do state that events and properties that have been used (queried) in the last 30 days should appear in Lexicon, and that sometimes there may be a short delay before new or recently used custom events are indexed and visible in the UI. However, no precise duration (such as minutes or hours) is provided in the documentation. If your custom event does not appear shortly after being used in a report, try refreshing the Lexicon page or waiting a bit longer. If it still does not appear after a reasonable period, there may be another issue, such as the event being hidden or not properly saved Check for Hidden Events and Properties. In summary: There is no documented, guaranteed timeframe for a custom event to appear in Lexicon after being used in a report. The appearance should be relatively prompt, but the exact timing is not specified in the knowledge sources.
