how come a user with analyst role in my project can’t:
Change attribution settings (e.g. first-touch, last-touch, W-shaped)
Use the “Attributed By” dimension
Adjust the lookback window
while other with the same role can?

Based on the knowledge sources, users with the Analyst role in a Mixpanel project should have the ability to create and save reports, including using advanced features like attribution models (e.g., first-touch, last-touch, W-shaped), the “Attributed By” dimension, and adjusting the lookback window. There is no documented restriction for Analysts that would prevent them from accessing or modifying attribution settings, as these capabilities are not limited to Owners or Admins according to the project roles documentation. Analysts are explicitly allowed to create and edit reports and use advanced analysis features Project Roles. If some users with the Analyst role cannot access these attribution features while others can, possible reasons (not directly covered in the documentation) could include: - The affected users may not actually have the Analyst role assigned, or their role assignment may not have propagated correctly. - There may be differences in the specific boards or reports they are trying to access, as permissions can be set at the board level, and only Editors can modify reports on a board Sharing and Permission. - The Attribution feature is only available on Growth and Enterprise plans. If the project is not on one of these plans, or if the user is working in a different project/environment, they may not have access Attribution. - There could be a UI or caching issue—logging out and back in, or clearing browser cache, may help.If none of these apply, it may be necessary to review the user’s actual role assignments and board/report permissions, or contact Mixpanel support for further troubleshooting.I'm sorry, but the knowledge sources do not provide a more specific reason for this discrepancy beyond the above possibilities.

Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! 📚
If the board permissions are set so that everyone in the project has Editor access, then all users—including those with the Analyst role—should be able to edit reports on that board, including changing attribution settings, using the “Attributed By” dimension, and adjusting the lookback window. Board-level permissions override individual report permissions, so Editor access on the board should grant full editing capabilities for all reports within it Sharing and Permission. If an Analyst still cannot perform these actions while others can, and board permissions are confirmed as Editor for all, the knowledge sources do not provide a clear reason for this discrepancy. There may be an issue outside of documented permissions, such as a UI bug or a problem with the user’s session. In summary: - Analyst role + Editor board permission = should have full editing access to attribution features. - If this is not the case, the knowledge sources do not specify another cause. Further investigation or Mixpanel support may be needed.
