When I create or update a cohort, it shows me X number of users in cohort. When I press save, it shows the same number in the table. When I refresh, it shows 0. When I filter on cohort, it acts as if nobody is in it. Anyone know what's up?

Based on the information in the knowledge sources, there isn’t a direct explanation for the exact scenario you’re describing (cohort shows users, but after saving and refreshing, it shows 0 and filtering returns no users). However, here are some possible causes and troubleshooting steps that are relevant: 1. Eligibility for Export/Filtering: If your cohort relies on a property (such as a partner ID for integrations), only users with that property set will be included. If, for example, you’re using a property like $braze_external_id
or similar, and users don’t have it set, they won’t appear in the cohort after saving or refreshing. You can check this by filtering your cohort in the User report and ensuring the required property is set for those users. This is a common cause for discrepancies between expected and actual cohort membership counts see more.2. Cohort Computation Timing: Cohorts are computed dynamically at query time. If there’s a delay in event ingestion or profile updates, or if you’ve recently imported or changed historical events (especially those older than 30 days), it may take up to 12 hours for those changes to be reflected in cohort analysis see more.3. User Profile Properties: If your cohort is defined using user profile properties, only the most recent value is used. If those properties have changed or are missing, users may drop out of the cohort after a refresh see more.4. Free Plan Limitation: If you are on the Free plan, you can create but not save cohorts. This could potentially cause issues with persistence or visibility of cohorts after refresh see more.Recommended Actions:
- Double-check the properties and criteria used to define your cohort.
- Ensure all users you expect to be in the cohort have the necessary properties set.
- If you recently imported data or updated properties/events, wait up to 12 hours and try again.
- If you’re on the Free plan, note the limitations regarding saving cohorts. If none of these resolve the issue, it may be a bug or a data ingestion delay, and you should reach out to Mixpanel Support for further assistance.References integrated above from:

Yes, you can filter all of the charts on an entire board at the same time in Mixpanel without needing to create a cohort. Boards allow you to apply board-wide date ranges and filters. When you add a filter at the board level, it updates the data displayed in all reports on that board, ensuring consistency across your analyses. These filters are temporary unless you use the "Pinned Filters" feature to make them permanent. This approach lets you explore and analyze data across multiple charts with a unified filter, without having to define a cohort Board-wide Date Ranges and Filters.
