Is there a way to group (union) multiple property values as one bucket when breaking down data in Mixpanel, without manually specifying each value using Custom Buckets?
Based on the knowledge sources, the primary way to group (union) multiple property values into a single bucket when breaking down data in Mixpanel is by using the Custom Buckets feature. With Custom Buckets, you can define segments by selecting multiple values for a property and grouping them under a custom segment name (e.g., grouping several countries as "Europe"). However, this process does require you to manually specify which values belong in each bucket during setup. There is no mention in the documentation of an automated or dynamic way to union property values into a bucket without manually specifying each value in the Custom Buckets modal. If you want to avoid manual specification for recurring groupings, you can create a custom property (available to Growth and Enterprise plans) that encodes your grouping logic, which can then be reused across reports. But again, the initial setup requires you to define the grouping logic explicitly. In summary, there is no built-in way to automatically group (union) multiple property values into a single bucket without manual specification using Custom Buckets or by creating a custom property. All grouping requires you to define which values are included in each bucket at least once during setup Custom Buckets Custom Properties.
