if I want to compare for the last 4 months from day 1 to day 20 lets say from each month, how do I filter that in an insight or funnel report?
Hi Juan I., Please stand by as I search the Mixpanel knowledge base for an AI-powered answer. I normally take about 15 seconds or so. Based on the knowledge sources provided, I can help you understand how to set up this date range comparison in Mixpanel. To compare the last 4 months from day 1 to day 20 of each month, you'll need to use the Custom Date Range feature with the Fixed option. Here's how:
Setting Up the Date Range
According to the Date Range documentation, you can: 1. Click on the date range selector in your Insights or Funnels report 2. Select Custom 3. Choose Fixed to select specific date rangesHowever, there's a limitation: Mixpanel's standard date range selector allows you to select a continuous date range, not multiple discontinuous periods (like day 1-20 from each of 4 different months simultaneously).
Recommended Approach
To achieve your goal, you have two options: Option 1: Use Time Comparisons - Set your date range to the most recent month (e.g., day 1-20 of the current month) - Use the Compare to Past feature to compare against previous months - This allows you to see multiple time periods side by side, though you'd need to manually ensure you're comparing the same day rangesOption 2: Create Separate Reports - Create individual reports for each month with the specific day 1-20 range - Use the Fixed date range option for each - Compare results across reportsUnfortunately, the knowledge sources don't show a built-in way to filter for "day 1-20 of each month for the last 4 months" as a single query. You may need to work with these workarounds or consider using the JQL API for more complex custom date filtering if you have access to it.
