In reports, I can filter events by "Time > 1 day". Is "1 day" a 24 hour period, or is it the time separated by midnight GMT, or something else?
If an event occurs at 00:01 Asia/Taipei time, it will remain relevant to the "1 day" filter until the end of the next calendar day in your project timezone. In Mixpanel, "1 day" refers to a full calendar day (midnight to midnight) in the project timezone, not a rolling 24-hour period. So, for an event at 00:01 on July 10 (Asia/Taipei time): - On July 10, the "last 1 day" filter includes all events from 00:00 to 23:59:59 on July 10. - On July 11, the "last 1 day" filter includes all events from 00:00 to 23:59:59 on July 11.The event at 00:01 on July 10 will only be included in the "last 1 day" filter on July 10. By July 11, it will no longer be included, because the filter now only includes events from July 11. Therefore, the event will not remain relevant for 48 hours; it will be relevant for less than 24 hours, specifically until the end of July 10 in your project timezone. This behavior is based on Mixpanel's use of calendar days for date filters, as described in the documentation: "All dates and times in Mixpanel reflect the project timezone... For these date ranges, the output shows results from the last complete 30 days, plus any results from the current incomplete day" Reports Overview – Date Range. If you are seeing different behavior, such as the event remaining in the filter for 48 hours, it may be due to a misunderstanding of the filter or a specific configuration, but the documentation does not indicate that "1 day" filters should work this way.

If an event occurs at 00:01 Asia/Taipei time will it remain relevant (to the 1 day filter) for 48 hours
The behavior you’re seeing is because Mixpanel’s date and time filters in reports are based on your project’s timezone and use calendar days, not rolling 24-hour periods. In your case, with the project timezone set to Asia/Taiwan, “1 day” means a full calendar day from midnight to midnight in Asia/Taiwan time. So, if your event happened at 10am on July 10 (Asia/Taiwan time), it will be included in the “last 1 day” filter until the end of July 11 (23:59:59 Asia/Taiwan time). On July 12, the event falls outside the most recent full calendar day and is no longer shown when filtering by “Time > 1 day.”This is confirmed in Mixpanel’s documentation: “All dates and times in Mixpanel reflect the project timezone. The default on most reports is ‘Last 30 days’ (displayed as ‘30D’), but there are a variety of pre-set options, as well as the option to select a custom date range.” The “Yesterday” preset, for example, is defined as “the whole of the previous day from midnight to midnight” in your project timezone Reports Overview – Date Range. So, Mixpanel’s “1 day” filter is not a rolling 24-hour window, but rather a calendar day as defined by your project’s timezone setting.

In Mixpanel reports, when you filter events by "Time > 1 day," the definition of "1 day" is based on your project's timezone, not strictly a 24-hour period from the current time or midnight GMT. All dates and times in Mixpanel reflect the project timezone you have set. For example, "Yesterday" includes the whole of the previous day from midnight to midnight in your project timezone, and similar logic applies to other date-based filters and breakdowns. This means "1 day" refers to a calendar day as defined by your project settings, not a rolling 24-hour window or GMT midnight boundary Reports Overview – Date Range. If you need to change the timezone, you can do so in your project settings, and this will affect how all date and time filters are applied in your reports Managing Project Timezones.
