Hi Kapa Bot! Is it possible to create metric that shows me what's the Drop-off for each of the events? Example:
Open page - 10%
Contact page visit - 5%
And that would mean that for 10% of users Open page was last action, and for 5% that would be Contact page visit. Thanks Bot 🙂
Hi Sewo B., Please stand by as I search the Mixpanel knowledge base for an AI-powered answer. I normally take about 15 seconds or so. Yes, Mixpanel provides a way to analyze drop-off at each step of a funnel, but not as a standalone metric outside of the Funnels or Flows reports.Funnels Report: In the Funnels report, you can see the percentage of users who drop off at each step. For example, if you have a funnel with steps like "Open page" and "Contact page visit," Mixpanel will show you the conversion rate between each step, and by extension, you can see the drop-off rate (i.e., users who did not proceed to the next step). However, this is visualized within the funnel and not as a separate metric you can use elsewhere. The drop-off for each step is essentially the percentage of users who do not move to the next step within the defined time window. This helps you identify where users are leaving your flow, but the metric is tied to the funnel visualization itself, not as a reusable metric across reports Funnels Quickstart.Flows Report: Alternatively, the Flows report is designed to show you the most frequent paths users take to or from any event, and it explicitly visualizes "drop-off" at each step. In the Sankey diagram, "Drop-off" represents users who did not do any further events in the next step during the time period specified in the report. This allows you to see, for each event, what percentage of users dropped off at that point Flows: Basic Features.Summary: - In Funnels, drop-off is shown as part of the funnel visualization. - In Flows, drop-off is visualized as a node, showing the percentage of users whose last action was a specific event. If you want a list like: - Open page - 10% drop-off - Contact page visit - 5% drop-offYou would use the Flows report to see, for each event, what percentage of users dropped off at that step. This is not available as a standalone metric outside of these reports, but the Flows visualization provides exactly the breakdown you described.Let me know if you need help building a specific report!
