When using a board on mix panel, is there a smart trick to set 2 different time frames? i want sheet A to show me last 7 days and sheet B to show me last year. I want to say for example, sheet A should follow the board filter while sheet B should not follow the board filter (the date selector)

Yes, you can achieve this in Mixpanel Boards. Here’s how it works: - When you apply a board-wide date range or filter, it does not alter the queries saved in individual reports. Instead, it temporarily updates the data displayed for all reports on the board while you’re viewing the board. If you want a specific report (sheet) to always show a different date range (e.g., last year), you should set that date range directly in the report itself. - If you open a report from the board, Mixpanel will retain the board’s date range and filters for consistency. However, if you navigate directly to the report (outside the board), it will display using its original saved date range and filters.Smart trick: - Set the desired date range (e.g., last year) directly in the report for Sheet B and save it. - For Sheet A, let it use the board-wide filter (e.g., last 7 days). - When viewing the board, both sheets will appear to follow the board filter, but if you want Sheet B to always show a fixed range, you’ll need to open it outside the board or instruct users to do so.Limitation: There is no built-in way to “lock” a report on a board to always ignore the board-wide date filter. The board filter is applied to all reports when viewing the board, and only when accessing the report directly will its saved date range be used instead.> Applying date ranges and filters on a Board does not alter the queries saved in individual reports. Instead, it updates the data displayed when you view those reports on the current Board. However, when you access a report from the Board, Mixpanel retains the date range and filters to ensure data consistency between the Board and the report. If you navigate directly to the report, it will display the report’s original saved date range and filters. Step 5: Board-wide Date Ranges and FiltersSo, while you can set different default date ranges for each report, when viewing them together on a board, the board’s filter will override them for display purposes. There is currently no feature to have a specific report on a board ignore the board-wide date filter.

i want sheet A to have a formula for filter. Say, i open the sheet on 1.6.2025, then i want to see only MAY. So i need to get the current month and go 1 month back. Then sheet B, will be affected by the main date filter on the board.
Let me check the knowledge base for you again. One moment! 📚
Based on the available Mixpanel documentation, there is no built-in way to create a dynamic formula or filter in a report (sheet) that automatically selects the previous month based on the current date (e.g., always showing "last full month" regardless of when you open the report). The date range selector allows you to set custom, rolling, or fixed date ranges, but it does not support formulas or expressions like "current month minus one" as a persistent filter within a report itself. You can manually set a custom date range for "last month" in a report, but this will not update automatically as time passes. The "Last" option in the date range selector allows for rolling windows (e.g., "last 30 days"), but not specifically "last full calendar month" relative to the current date. The "Month to Date" and similar options are available, but again, not "previous month" as a dynamic formula. When a report is added to a board, the board-wide date filter will override the report's saved date range for display purposes. There is no documented way to have a report on a board use a dynamic formula for its date range while other reports follow the board filter, or to have a report ignore the board filter and use its own dynamic logic for date selection Step 5: Board-wide Date Ranges and Filters Date Range.Summary: - You can set a fixed or rolling date range, but not a dynamic "previous month" formula. - Board-wide filters override individual report date ranges when viewing the board. - There is no feature to have a report on a board use a dynamic date formula or ignore the board filter.I'm sorry, but the knowledge sources do not contain information about supporting this specific use case in Mixpanel.
