You can drop an event directly in Mixpanel using the Lexicon feature. Here’s how: 1. Go to Lexicon in your Mixpanel project. 2. Select the event you want to drop. The Drop icon will appear. 3. Click the Drop icon. You’ll see a warning indicating that you cannot recover the data associated with the event. 4. Confirm by clicking Drop again. The event’s status will update to Dropped.After dropping, Mixpanel will no longer store any new data for that event, even if it continues to be sent from Segment or any other source. Note that previously ingested data for that event will still be visible in the interface, but no new data will be stored. Only project owners can drop or undrop events, and it may take a few hours for the change to take effect Dropping Data.If you need to reverse this, you can undrop the event from the same Lexicon interface.

If you do not see a "Drop" icon in Lexicon, it is likely due to your project role. According to the knowledge sources, only project owners have permission to drop (and undrop) events and properties in Mixpanel. Admins, analysts, and consumers do not have this capability. To drop an event, you must be assigned the "Owner" role for the project. If you are not the owner, you will not see the drop option in the Lexicon interface. You may need to contact your project owner or organization admin to either perform the action for you or assign you the necessary permissions Dropping Data | Project Roles.If you are the owner and still do not see the option, there may be a UI issue or a restriction specific to your Mixpanel plan or environment. In that case, reaching out to Mixpanel support is recommended.
