1. For User Profiles: The join key is always distinct_id and cannot be changed.
2. For Group Profiles: You specify the group key when creating a new group profile. This key is then used to join events on that property.
3. For Lookup Tables: You specify the join key when creating or uploading the lookup table.
To view or manage these join keys:
- For Lookup Tables, you can access them via Lexicon. Go to Lexicon > Import > Lookup Table to view existing lookup tables or upload new ones. Here you can see which properties are linked to each lookup table.
- For Group Profiles, you would need to check the group key you specified when creating the group profile.
It's important to note that a Mixpanel property can only be mapped to one lookup table in Lexicon. If you need to map different lookup tables for the same property, you have two options:
1. Create a local mapping within a specific report. 2. Create multiple custom properties containing the property you want to map, then map different lookup tables to each custom property in Lexicon.
