Hi kapa.ai, how to merge 2 events?
To merge two events in Mixpanel, you can use the Lexicon feature. Here’s how you can do it: 1. Go to Lexicon in your Mixpanel project. 2. Select the events you want to merge. The “Merge” icon will appear. 3. Click the Merge icon. A window will show the events you selected and explain that merging combines them into a single event (this does not affect the raw data). 4. In the “MERGE SELECTED EVENTS INTO…” section, specify which event Mixpanel should consider as the new unique event. 5. Click Merge. The merged event will now appear as a single event, and the “Status” column will indicate “Merged”.If you ever need to unmerge the events, you can select the merged event and use the “Unmerge” icon to revert them to their original state. Note that this process only affects how events are displayed and queried in Mixpanel, not the underlying raw data Lexicon: Merging Data.

If you do not see the Merge icon in Lexicon, the knowledge sources do not provide a detailed troubleshooting guide for this specific issue. However, they do mention that only project owners can merge events and event properties in Lexicon. If you are not a project owner, you may not have access to this feature. Additionally, ensure you are in the correct section of Lexicon and have selected multiple events, as the Merge icon only appears when multiple events are selected Lexicon: Merging Data.If you meet these conditions and still do not see the Merge icon, the knowledge sources do not contain enough information to provide further troubleshooting steps. You may need to consult Mixpanel support or your project administrator for additional help.

To check project owners in Mixpanel, go to Project Settings and look for the list of project users and their assigned roles. The users with the "Owner" role are the project owners. You can access this by: 1. Navigating to Project Settings. 2. Selecting Project Users. 3. Reviewing the list of users and their roles—owners will be clearly indicated. The knowledge sources confirm that project roles, including Owner, are managed and visible in the Project Users section, but do not provide a screenshot or more detailed step-by-step instructions Roles & Permissions: Project Roles.

If you are a project admin, you have almost the same permissions as a project owner, but with some limitations. Specifically, only project owners can merge events and event properties in Lexicon. As a project admin, you will not see the Merge icon for events or properties in Lexicon, which is why you are unable to perform this action Lexicon: Merging Data.If you need to merge events, you will need to ask a project owner to do this for you.
