Clarification on Browser Tracking Limitations for Android Firefox in Mixpanel
Hi everyone, We’d like to clarify a browser tracking behavior we observed on Android devices. For the same user on an Android phone:
When opening our website with Chrome, Mixpanel is able to correctly detect the browser as Chrome.
However, when opening the website with Firefox, the browser is recorded as “Android Mobile”, and the browser version is shown as “(not set)”, instead of Firefox.
Based on this comparison, we’d like to confirm:

Is this behavior a known tracking limitation on Mixpanel’s side, or
- 2.
Is it a platform or browser-specific limitation on Android / Firefox that affects browser detection?
Additionally, could you help clarify whether Mixpanel has any known browser detection limitations, such as specific browsers or environments where the browser name cannot be reliably identified? Thanks in advance for your clarification and guidance.
