Ingesting Untracked Data for E-commerce Fulfillment in Mixpanel

Is there a way to ingest data that is not linked to a user? eg: if i want to do ecommerce fulfillent and order status reports for orders recieved within mixpanel? 🎫

Hey Imtiaz! Julianne from Mixpanel Support here. It is possible to send data not linked to a specific user by sending an empty string, "", as the distinct_id. The Hot Shard Limits doc has more information about this. Events not linked to a specific user won't be able to be used in all reports- for example, you wouldn't be able to make a Funnel with the events since they aren't linked to a user. Depending on your use case, I'd recommend checking out Group Analytics. Group analytics allows you to use a different identifier, such as the orderID, to group together events. This may be useful if you want to analyze funnels of order status. We have it available in our B2B demo dataset if you want to see it in action: https://mixpanel.com/s/49YuVS. Either way, I recommend sending a few test events and confirming that they allow you to generate the reports you need!
