Does the first time ever filter finds the users who completed the selected event for the first time ever in the platform, or does it only find the users who completed the event for the first time in the given timeframe that is set in the report e.g - 7 days, 30 days, custom time frame etc.

The "First Time Ever" filter in Mixpanel finds users who completed the selected event for the first time ever on the platform, not just within the selected report timeframe. Mixpanel determines this by scanning each user’s entire event history to identify the true first instance of the event, based on timestamp. If a user’s first occurrence of the event falls within your report’s date range, they will be included in the results. If their first occurrence was before the selected timeframe, they will not be included—even if they performed the event again during the timeframe. So, the filter does not find users who did the event for the first time within the timeframe, but rather users whose first-ever occurrence of the event happened during the selected timeframe Analyzing First Time Users.
