·
·

Hello everyone, have a question, do you recommend using mixpanel for data analysis using ERP data? meaning sending ERP info about, client, stock, prodcuts, sells. So i can build reports on what is my current stock, cacelled orders, etc? i know mixpanel is build for product analysis, but not so sure if i can use this this way? What do you think

Surely there are alternatives for that that are better suited? Why use Mixpanel for this?

You can kludge some stuff together with Lookup tables in particular, but they have limitations (eg 10k? 100k? rows) etc. Otherwise, the restriction on all event data being relevant to a user will end up hitting you hard. Something like current stock - what would this look like? Would you have an event for your staff member ordering in 10,000 of a product, and then build a formula deducting the quantity ordered? I wouldn't recommend trying to twist things to work here, I second Johannes' comment above. If you DO try this, one other thing to keep in mind is that with events being immutable (outside of mirroring with a data warehouse), things like cancelling/refunding orders will make all of your reporting around stock/revenue quite messy by having to account for this too.
