Creating a Simple Funnel Report for Marketing Page Conversions

·
·

Hey all, I'd love a bit of help with funnels. I'm trying to create a pretty basic funnel report that shows which of our marketing pages convert best. It's just a simple 2 step funnel that's broken down by path:

  1. 1.

    page view

  2. 2.

    sign up

I'm pretty sure the default of this funnel shows which "entry page" on our site leads to the most conversions, but how would I alternatively show which "final touch" page on the marketing site converts best? I tried looking around but couldn't find anything obvious other than setting the conversion URL as a property on the conversion event. I'm hoping there is a way to do this without adjusting our implementation. Thanks for the help!

Hi Cobi! Happy to help with this. Can you clarify what you mean by which "final touch" page on the marketing site converts best? I think I have an idea but want to make sure before I get into it.

So the steps of the funnel are just page view and sign up, but the majority of people view multiple pages before signing up. The default is attributing the first page viewed, but I’d like to attribute the very last page viewed before signup to that conversion

I’ve tried all settings and they don’t seem to do anything, it’s always just the first page someone viewed that’s counted as step 1

    does that make sense?

Yup I understand what you mean. I believe this demo project link shows how to get that: https://mixpanel.com/s/24VrFZ Feel free to look more at attribution models here. By default the 30 day look back is the last touch model so it should be looking at the last page name before signing up.

ahhh so I need to set the breakdown to "Attributed by Path or Page Name" to make that work

    i can't just do breakdown = Path

i tried this out and it doesn't seem to work. I tried to validate it by looking at a given user in a last touch report and the attributed path doesn't match the path of the last page they touched before the conversion event
