Guidelines for Using Mixpanel User Profiles and IDs

Hi everyone 😊 I have two questions and hope to get some guidelines. 1. I see that Mixpanel creates a user profile with default parameters under Mixpanel Properties, such as device model, geo, and user ID. Is it possible to retrieve this user ID and show it in the product under the user profile, so that if the user reaches out to support, they can copy this ID for us to identify them? Are there any guidelines for this? 2. We are currently tracking events only, and I noticed that the Users tab in Mixpanel is empty. Does it make sense to enable User Profiles? What value does it provide? I checked the Help Center but didn’t quite understand. I would really appreciate it if someone could share examples. Thank you in advance for your help 🙏

    1. 1.

      a better approach will be to send your User ID to Mixpanel as a user property or as distinct ID that your team can query on and use that to link the profile

    I am sharing a sample query for reference, here I have given an example of Account ID but this can be anything to identify the user 2. User Profile will help track all activities of a user, you will be able to create a list of users, the challenge in point 1 will get automatically solved

      Got it. So in general we can generate our own User ID and send it to Mixpanel.
