Feature Request: Save Custom Formula Names in Mixpanel Reports
Hi, I have a feature request: the ability to save formulae in reports with different names, without overwriting the formulae in Lexicon. We are able to rename Events in Mixpanel reports without affecting their names in Lexicon, so I am after the same functionality for formulae in reports. What is the pain point? I have metrics that I saved as formulae in the Mixpanel project like Open rate (%) and Click-through rate (%), so that our marketers don’t have to worry about these calculations. However there is no way for me to rename the formulae in project. I want to have a report where I rename the metrics as 1. Open rate (%) and 2. Click-through rate (%) WITHOUT overwriting the formula names in Lexicon. The reason I’m doing this is that I want to sort as Segment A->Z with my own order of displaying the metrics in the report in a pre-defined order, so that left to right the Metric chart appears with open rate, then click-through rate, then a conversion rate. Save All Changes button overwrites the formula names I set globally in Lexicon - I don’t want to do that and there is no option to save names specific to the report for my use case. If I use any of the sorts, the metrics like Open rate and CTR won’t appear in the pre-defined order that I want, which will confuse marketers when they try to analyse campaign metrics. My workaround is that I’ll save formula names like E1. Open rate (%) and E2. Click-through rate (%). It’s not ideal as I’ll have to do this for all sorts of metrics, e.g. for Braze content cards I’ll be doing this so I’ll name them C1. C2. etc.
