Hi - for an event I had a property which has now been removed. can i still filter for past data using that property
Yes, you can still filter for past data using a property that has been removed from an event, as long as that property was present in the historical data. Mixpanel retains historical data even when properties are removed or modified.According to the Mixpanel documentation on dropping data:"When an event is dropped, all events of that type that have previously been ingested (before dropping it) will still show in the interface."This principle applies to properties as well. When you remove a property from an event, it only affects new data being sent to Mixpanel. The historical data that includes that property remains intact and can still be used for analysis. However, it's important to note that if the property has been inactive for a while, it might be hidden from the dropdown menus in the Mixpanel interface. As stated in the debugging documentation:"Event properties and property values that have not been sent to your project in the last 28 days will also be hidden from dropdowns."If you don't see the property in the dropdown, you can still search for it by typing its name (case-sensitive) in the dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can fire a single instance of that property to make it reappear in the UI.In summary, you can still filter and analyze historical data using a removed property, but you might need to search for it manually if it's been inactive for a while.
