If you cannot find an event property in the breakdown options for your Insights report (even when typing it in manually), there are a few likely reasons based on Mixpanel documentation: 1. Property Not Sent Recently: Mixpanel hides event properties from dropdown menus if they have not been sent to your project in the last 28–30 days. This is to reduce clutter from inactive data. If the property hasn't been ingested recently, it won't appear in the UI—even if you type it in. To make it available, you need to send at least one event with that property again. Once the property is ingested, it should reappear in the breakdown options. Note that event/property names are case-sensitive when searching manually Check for Hidden Events and Properties Advanced Filter & Breakdown Usage.2. Property is Hidden in Lexicon: Project Owners or Admins can hide properties in Lexicon. If a property is hidden, it will not show up in the breakdown options. You can check Lexicon to see if the property is hidden and unhide it if necessary Check for Hidden Events and Properties.3. Session Property Association: For session-based reports, only certain properties are associated with session events by default. If you want to break down sessions by a custom event property, you need to explicitly add that property to the list of session-associated properties in your Project Settings under Session Settings. There is a limit of 4 additional properties you can associate for session analysis. If your property is not in this list, it will not be available for breakdown on session events Session Properties. What you can do: - Check if the property is hidden in Lexicon and unhide it if needed. - Ensure the property has been sent with an event in the last 28–30 days. - If you are analyzing sessions, add the property to the session-associated properties in Project Settings (up to 4 custom properties). If you follow these steps and the property still does not appear, it may be due to a limitation or a delay in data processing. In that case, try sending a new event with the property and wait a short while, or contact Mixpanel support for further troubleshooting.
