To share a report with an external party and allow them to download CSV data, you have a few options in Mixpanel:

    Option 1: Embed the report

You can embed Mixpanel reports in third-party tools. When you embed a report, users can view it in platforms like Figma, Coda, Notion, and others that support embedding.1. Copy the link of the report you want to share 2. Paste it into the third-party tool that supports embedding 3. Follow the authentication instructionsThis works with any third-party tool that supports standard oEmbed. The external user will need to authenticate to view the embedded report.Embeds documentation

Option 2: Share the report URL

You can share a direct link to your report: 1. Click the "Copy URL" button at the top right of the report 2. Share this link with the external partyNote that the recipient will need access to your Mixpanel project to view the report and download data.Sharing and Permission documentation

Option 3: Export and share the CSV directly

If you want to share just the data without giving access to Mixpanel: 1. Open the report you want to share 2. Click the "..." button in the top right corner 3. Select "Export" and choose CSV format 4. Download the CSV file and share it directly with the external partyWhen exporting a CSV of an Insights report in Bar, Stacked Bar, Pie, Table, or Metric view, you can export up to 50,000 rows of data. For other views and reports, the limit is 10,000 rows.Downloading Reports documentationNote that permissions to download reports are limited to Owner, Admin, and Analyst roles. Consumer role users cannot download reports.Project Roles documentation

I want to provide access only to one report with CSV download capability. Will Option 2 allow them to see all boards?

Based on your question about sharing just one report with CSV download capability, Option 2 (sharing a direct URL) would not be the best choice for your needs. When you share a direct URL to a report, the recipient would need access to your Mixpanel project. Once they have project access, they would be able to see all boards and reports they have permission to view based on their assigned role in the project, not just the single report you want to share. For sharing just a single report with CSV download capability to an external party, you have these better options: 1. Public Boards: If you're on a paid plan, you can create a Public Board containing only the specific report you want to share. - This allows external users to view the board without a Mixpanel login - You can password-protect the board for additional security - However, note that only project users with Owner, Admin, or Analyst roles can download reports as CSV, so the external user would not be able to download the data themselves Public Boards2. Export and share the CSV directly: This remains the most straightforward option if you just want to share the data from a single report. - You download the CSV yourself and share it directly with the external party - This doesn't require giving them any access to your Mixpanel projectIf you absolutely need the external party to have the ability to both view a single report AND download the CSV themselves, you would need to: 1. Invite them to your project with at least an Analyst role (since Consumers cannot download reports) 2. Create a Data View that restricts what data they can see 3. Share only the specific board/report with themData Views & ClassificationWould one of these alternatives work better for your needs?
