Hi I need to look at Sessions on Mixpanel for our cross platform product. I find app session and session started . I know app session is only for the apps but is the virtual event session started tracking both web and mobile applications?

To answer your question about sessions in Mixpanel for cross-platform products, let's clarify the difference between the events you mentioned:1. app session: This is a legacy automatically tracked event specific to mobile applications. It's not recommended for use across platforms Legacy Automatically Tracked Events.2. Session Start: This is indeed a virtual event that Mixpanel computes automatically for both web and mobile applications. It's part of Mixpanel's Sessions feature, which is designed to work across platforms Sessions: Compute sessions based on existing event data. The Session Start event is the one you should focus on for cross-platform session tracking. It's computed based on your existing event data and works for both web and mobile applications. Mixpanel creates this virtual event along with a Session End event to define sessions Sessions: Compute sessions based on existing event data. You can configure how these sessions are computed in your project settings, choosing between timeout-based, event-based, or property-based methods. This allows you to analyze user behavior consistently across different platforms Sessions: Compute sessions based on existing event data. For cross-platform products, it's generally recommended to send data from all platforms to a single Mixpanel project. This approach provides more flexibility and valuable insights into your overall user experience across platforms Best Practices for Cross-Platform Tracking.

Do you know if the fact that we are not tracking logged-out users influences the session started virtual event?
