kapa.ai. In insight report and Metric format, how do I display the total amount while still having breakdowns fields. Example an event has occured 10 times and I would like the number to say 10, but when I add example company name as breakdown, it will show as 1 per company.

To display the total amount while still having breakdown fields in an Insights report using the Metric format, you can use the "Overall" feature in Mixpanel. This feature allows you to see the total count across all segments while still displaying the breakdown by individual segments. Here's how you can achieve this:1. Set up your Insights report with the desired event and breakdown. 2. Choose the "Metric" visualization from the top right corner. 3. In the table view, you'll see an "Overall" row that shows the total count across all segments. The "Overall" row will display the total number of events (in your example, 10), while the individual breakdown rows will show the count for each segment (in your example, 1 per company). This behavior is described in the Mixpanel documentation on sorting in Insights reports::LBKS[Insights:: Visualize trends and compositions within your data](https://docs.mixpanel.com/docs/reports/insights#sorting)The documentation states::LBKS"**Overall::** This refers to the value considering all the segments, independent of whether displayed or not based on your View N control; i.e changes to View N will not affect Overall numbers"This means that the "Overall" row will show the total count (10 in your case), while the individual segments will display their respective counts (1 per company). It's important to note that when you apply a breakdown, Mixpanel by default tells you how many unique users or events contributed to each segment. This is why you see 1 per company in your breakdown. The sum of individual segments may be more than the total because one user or event could contribute to multiple segments. If you need further customization or have specific requirements for displaying your data, you may want to explore other visualization options or consider using Mixpanel's advanced features.

kapa.ai is it still possible to display only 1 value in the metric chart, while having more fields in the table view (more then 1 breakdown)

Yes, it is possible to display only one value in the metric chart while having more fields in the table view with multiple breakdowns in Mixpanel's Insights report. This can be achieved by using a combination of the Metric visualization and the Table chart. Here's how you can set this up:1. Create your Insights report with the desired event and multiple breakdowns. 2. In the visualization options (top right corner), select "Metric" to display a single value. 3. Below the metric, you'll see a "Table" view that shows more detailed information, including multiple breakdowns. This approach is supported by the Mixpanel documentation on Table charts in Insights::LBKS[Insights:: Visualize trends and compositions within your data](https://docs.mixpanel.com/docs/reports/insights#sorting)The documentation states:"Tables are useful to see the precise values of your data and to quickly scan multiple metrics per segment. In general, tables work similarly to the rest of Insights, with a few extra features."It also mentions:"The Grouped View preserves the hierarchy of breakdowns. It shows you segments within a breakdown as displayed below. This view is only applicable when you have 2 or more breakdowns"This means you can have a single metric displayed at the top of your report, while the table below can show multiple breakdowns and more detailed information.Remember that you can customize the table view further: - You can sort the table by different columns - You can choose between "Grouped View" and "Ungrouped View" - You can adjust how many segments to display using the "View N" controlThis setup allows you to have a high-level metric view while still providing access to more detailed breakdown information in the same report.

Yes, it is indeed possible to display only one value in the metric chart while having more fields with multiple breakdowns in the table view of a Mixpanel Insights report. This functionality is supported by Mixpanel's Insights feature, which allows for flexible data visualization.According to the Mixpanel documentation on Insights::LBKS[Insights:: Visualize trends and compositions within your data](https://docs.mixpanel.com/docs/reports/insights#sorting)The Table chart in Insights offers this capability. The documentation states:"Tables are useful to see the precise values of your data and to quickly scan multiple metrics per segment. In general, tables work similarly to the rest of Insights, with a few extra features."Furthermore, for multiple breakdowns, the documentation mentions:"The Grouped View preserves the hierarchy of breakdowns. It shows you segments within a breakdown as displayed below. This view is only applicable when you have 2 or more breakdowns"To achieve this setup:1. Create your Insights report with the desired event and multiple breakdowns. 2. Select the "Metric" visualization to display a single value at the top. 3. Below the metric, you'll see a "Table" view that can show more detailed information, including multiple breakdowns. This approach allows you to have a high-level metric view (single value) while still providing access to more detailed breakdown information in the table view within the same report.Remember that you can further customize the table view by sorting columns, choosing between "Grouped View" and "Ungrouped View", and adjusting the number of segments to display using the "View N" control.
