Facebook Ads manager and Google Ads do a good job with this feature, facebook is actually a bit better.
- Add a "compare" option, user sets date ranges using a calendar view.
- View shows the totals for each column, such each step in a "Funnel" and % change and count change for the different date ranges.

Mixpanel has greatly improved in this regard, at least from our team's perspective. The "Compare to Past" button on the Insights panel is very useful.
