Calculate product engagement scoreIN REVIEW
Hi, I'm trying to calculate a Product Engagement Score, that consists basically in assigning events a weight, then calculate a raw_score=#events*event_weight and sum them (as you can see in the pic)After that I need to normalize the raw_score to make it fit in a 0-100 interval. For that, I use this (pseudocode) function in GSheets: 90p = 90thPercentil(raw_scores)=IF(raw_score>90p;100;ROUND(raw_score/90p*100;2))I’ve ask this to support and they told me to put this idea here. Please let me know what you think. thanks!
I have identified 10 events in Mixpanel that we would deem “core” events - ones that we’d like to track in order to understand to what extent they’re adopted across our user base, in order to measure health of adoption overall.I have tried many ways of calculating the following using various combinations of insights reports, formulas, custom events, and cohorts, but I haven’t yet been able to structure the data properly. Hoping someone can help me see the the way through. Here’s what I’d like to report out:The average number of core events (i.e., a number between 1 and 10, since there are 10 core events) completed per user in a given time period (say, 30 days).Meaning, if User 1 completes 3 of the 10 events at least once in 30 days, and User 2 completes 7 of the 10 events at least once in 30 days, and User 3 completes 0 events in those 30 days (but did log-in), and User 4 did not log-in, the average number of core events completed by active users in the time period is (3+7+0)/3 = 3.3 av

Hi there, I’ve searched high and low for this use case and cannot seem to find it (apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere).I am trying to easily duplicate/copy or transfer dashboard templates I’ve created in one project/environment to another project. So in the screenshot below, trying to copy a dashboard template from PIA Test to PIA Prod, to avoid having to re-create each report. How is this possible? Thanks!
Hi all, I am trying to do a N28 analysis to find out if i should optimize for WAU or DAU. Trying to use Mixpanel to create a report that tells me the following: How many days per month does a retained user (a specific cohort) launch our app? So the graph should be a bar graph that says x amount launched 1/month, x launched 2/month, 3/month and so on until 28/month. Is this possible in Mixpanel?
I want to generate a report which will allow me to check activities of the users at a particular time. However, I need to club together the hours of days for multiple days. What I mean is, on the X-axis of the report, I should be able to see the hours of a day (ranging 1-24), and on the Y-axis should be the count of all events. Can anyone provide me inputs on this? In the above chart, I want to club together all the events that happened between, say 8.00 am and 9.00 am for the last 30 days.
Hey,We have users that start a trial period of 14 days, during which they can invite team members to their account. They can also add a payment method at any time, if they want to stay active & upgraded after the end of their trial.I’m trying to create a report that shows the average number of invitees a user has before adding a payment method during their trial period. So basically I’m trying to aggregate the average number of invitees from the moment the trial period had started until (and no later then) a payment method had been added - if a user added a payment, then invited more people during their trial, I don’t want to “count” this. I tried creating a cohort and aggregate this property, but I’m not sure how to make sure that the aggregation will “ignore” what ever is happening after a specific event (adding payment) had occurred.
Hi,Here’s my use case: I’d like to track the first page that was viewed by users who signed up. Just like there’s an “initial referrer domain” user property, I’d like to have an “initial page viewed” with the path as the value.I would then want to count the # of users broken down by this property to see which of our website pages is driving the most sign-ups.I can extract the data in JQL, which means I can probably run a JQL report to do the count per path. However, I don’t know how to assign this property so that I can leverage it in other reports and use the Mixpanel visualization. Some options I can think of:Compute it on a third party like Looker, push to Segment the user properties, which will then land into Mixpanel. Reasonably easy to do but requires yet another tool. Compute it using JQL API and push the user properties to Segment via REST API, which will then land into Mixpanel. Reasonably easy but requires a custom pipeline. Is there a simpler way to achieve this without buildi
We have a sum which is in the millions on an event page - but I want to show it in the basic figures...eg 1.2mn is being shown but I want to show it as 1,206,547 or whatever it is….how do i force number format back to detailed figure…. and secondly I want the page to auto refresh on a screen...can i do that so the number if always updating real time? thanks
Hi all, I am trying to get data out of mixpanel using Python. I used the mixpanelutil package to run JQL to extract events data, but it keeps returning 502. Please let me know if there is any solution for this. Thanks. mputils = MixpanelUtils(api_secret=api_secret, token=project_token)query_start = datetime.now()print('Running query...')results = mputils.query_jql(query)query_stop = datetime.now()
@cpellows FYI Allow user to adjust height of dashboard cards, not just width - Many times I want to see more then the fist 6 lines of a bar graph and would not mind if it took up more vertical space @cherise_MixpanelTeam as requested I am submitting all items from @cpellows "dashboard improvements" idea as separate ideas. Please submit submit product gaps and whenever possible provide a status update. Thank you in advance.
Table View in DashboardsIN REVIEW
Through Insights Analysis, I am happy to have the ability to write formulas that calculate important metrics for my company. However, I am unable to share these metrics (which are shown in a table in the Insights Analysis) within a Dashboard showing related information or an email digest to share automatically with the rest of the company. Adding this capability would be a huge help!
Page dwell timeIN REVIEW
I’d like to be able to report on how long users spend on specific pages. Much like the ‘session’ times where you could set a timeout, perhaps the entry time to a page could be tracked and then the exit time? A default timeout value could be used to end a ‘page session’ after n minutes of inactivity?
Hey, I want to know the new users we attained each week. We define new user as someone who joined us in the last 7 days. We are not able to do it with a date event property or days_since_signup event property since when we set them to <= 7 they only show users who onboarded in the last 7 day. For example - we want new users who joined our app between 5 June to 12 june and those who joined between May 29 to June 4. We want to map each user to a particular week on when they joined
Hey there Mixpanel Community 👋 First post here ! So I’ve setup Mixpanel & Segment on our product (more than 12k users)We use Group Analytics to group users into teams, which is super useful ! But I’m encountering a big problem In our product, users can create campaigns. We have the following campaign-related events:Campaign Created Campaign Launched Campaign DeletedIn those event, I’ve added a property called campaign_id I thought I was going to be able to group campaigns with this property to follow campaigns trends (What is the % of campaigns being created and deleted later on? What is the % of campaign created but not launched ?) But it seems you cannot do this using a id property, or maybe you can ? (first question !) An alternative I thought of was to use Group Analytics and to create a Campaign Group, so that would allow me to do this, but I’m not sure if this is a correct solution because a it’s only for those campaign events that it makes sense (only 10% of my tracked even
"Problem IdentifiedOur mobile app (client) is sending the events in the correct sequence. But the events are not logged in the correct order in the Mixpanel end.I understand that there might be issues in the network latencies. But the client should be able to define the timestamp when sending an event. As per https://developer.mixpanel.com/docs/http client can define the timestamp in seconds but not in milliseconds.SuggestionMixpanel should support receiving of events with milliseconds property. Thanks for reading through." - @ragularuban Original Idea posted here.
Hello all, I am trying to figure out how I can filter a dashboard as a whole on an account level, rather than on just the user level. I seem to be able to do breakdowns of accounts in certain reports, and the account level is available, I just doesn’t seem to be able to use that data to filter all report in a dashboard. Help would be much appreciated! Best, Lars
